2. Local data stored on your device
DefinedBytes apps primarily process data locally on your device, such as:
– documents/projects you create or import
– app settings and preferences
– optional logs or exports you choose to create
We do not require you to create an account with DefinedBytes.
3. Diagnostics and analytics (Microsoft App Center)
Our apps use Microsoft App Center for:
– Crash reporting (diagnostics)
– Usage analytics
App Center SDKs collect common technical data to provide these services, which may include:
– a per-installation identifier (Install-ID) and app identifier keys
– session information and device properties (e.g., device model, OS version)
– crash/diagnostic data (e.g., error logs, stack traces)
– network information (e.g., IP address as part of network communication)
This information helps us improve stability and understand feature usage in aggregate.
We do not use App Center to read your documents/projects content.
4. Purchases and licensing
All purchases are handled by Microsoft Store. We do not receive your payment card data.
Microsoft may provide us with aggregated sales/usage information in the developer portal.
5. Retention
– Local app data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
– App Center crash/analytics retention is managed by Microsoft according to their services and settings.
6. Security
We implement reasonable measures to protect the apps and any data they store locally.
You are responsible for securing your device (e.g., Windows account password, device encryption).
7. Your rights (EEA/UK)
If GDPR applies, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object, and data portability.
For data stored locally, you can typically exercise these rights by deleting local app data.
For App Center data, contact us at privacy@definedbytes.com.
8. California / US privacy notice (where applicable)
If you are a California resident and the CCPA applies to our processing, you may have rights to request information about personal information we collect and to request deletion, subject to legal limitations.
We do not sell personal information.
