SENDMAILER PRO — PERSONALIZATION PRACTICE

Fictional data for preview only. These reserved example.com addresses are not
intended for sending email. No sending account is included.

1. In Contacts, create a list called Personalization example.
2. Import contacts.xlsx (or contacts.csv). Select A1:C3, including headers.
3. Import Selected; confirm that the first row contains headers.
4. Map Email to E-mail. Add First Name and Company as custom columns with
exactly these names. Check that both imported contacts are active.
5. Create a template. Choose this contact list in the editor and insert actual
First Name and Company merge fields using Insert merge field.
6. Preview both records. Expected values:
Anna / Northwind Demo, and Mark / Contoso Demo.

Suggested message:
Hello [insert the First Name merge field],

Here is the project update for [insert the Company merge field].
Please review the schedule before our next meeting.

Best regards,
The project team

The bracketed instructions above are not merge fields. Insert fields through
the editor. Typing field names or angle brackets as plain text does not work.

For a personalized document attachment, use a saved template with the same
contact fields. In a campaign's Attachments step, select Add dynamic PDF
attachment and choose the template. Preview both records before proceeding.
Campaign setup requires a configured sending account. The template preview
exercise can be completed without one. Do not send to these sample addresses.
