Practice specifications — tutorials 08–10
Use fictional data and a separate saved copy. These examples do not require replacing or resetting your library.
08 — Forest Tea - Layout practice
Create a Product label from Start with product Forest Blend Tea 100 g, barcode 001042, and Add a price: $12.50. Name it Forest Tea - Layout practice, save it, then open Edit label from My Labels. In the Simple editor, use Label size for 100 × 70 mm. Add the instruction using Add text; Add image / icon can add the optional leaf. Tutorial 02 demonstrates those two actions in detail.
For the exact starting example, select each element and use Inspector → Position & size → Units: mm. Press Enter after each value. X/Y are relative to the printable design area. The recorded design has approximately 5 mm design margins on each side.
| Element | Text/value | X | Y | Width | Height | Font |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Title | Forest Blend Tea 100 g | 8 | 2 | 70 | 8 | Arial 14 pt bold |
| Code 128 | 001042 | 2.5 | 15 | 70 | 20 | Default barcode text |
| Price | $12.50 | 2.5 | 38 | 25 | 6 | Arial 12 pt |
| Instruction | Keep in a cool, dry place. | 12 | 46 | 60 | 8 | Segoe UI 10 pt |
| Optional leaf | Icon | 78 | 43 | 10 | 10 | Keep image proportions |
Save this starting label. Tutorial 08 makes a separate copy named Forest Tea - Aligned. You can also practice with your own simple label: the aim is to observe alignment and resizing, not to memorise these coordinates.
09 — Tea sample - Code 128
Create a Product label with product Tea sample - demo identifier, barcode/SKU TEA-001, and no price. Save as Tea sample - Code 128, open its editor, and set the label size to 100 × 70 mm. Use static text with no spreadsheet connection.
| Element | X | Y | Width | Height |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Title, Segoe UI 12 pt bold | 2.5 | 2 | 80 | 8 |
| Code 128, TEA-001 | 2.5 | 15 | 60 | 20 |
Keep the remaining area empty. Save before starting tutorial 09, which creates the copy Tea sample - DataMatrix. These are demonstration identifiers, not assigned retail product numbers.
10 — Tea - Website QR
No prepared label is required. Start with QR label → URL, and enter https://example.com/tea. The tutorial adds Scan for product details, with Width 19 mm and X 30 mm, on a 60 × 40 mm label. Replace the example address for your own use.
About the supplied files
The PDFs are actual application exports. The `.repx` files preserve the starting and finished native report layouts for technical reference and reproducibility; they are not a one-click library installer. The instructions above use normal application controls. Do not restore a demonstration database over a personal library.
The Code 128, DataMatrix and QR symbols were decoded from PDF images. No physical printer, scanner or phone test is claimed.
